Whyfilms is a coalition of creative filmmakers, editors and art directors that have come together to create astounding works of cinematic masterpieces. We pride ourselves in creating visually spectacular wedding documentaries that capture the exciting essence of your special day. Our distinct style is a result of our attention to detail, journalistic approach and creative eye.
Creative Director and Founder - Yaroslav Kofman is originally from the Ukraine and immigrated to San Francisco in the late 1980s. He became interested in film after watching romantic classics such as Gone With the Wind, Casablanca and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Soon, he developed a style that is reminiscent of Old Hollywood Glamour which can be seen in many of his productions. You can see his work on the Vegas Strip (Koi Las Vegas), MTV and international media. He has worked with the Travel Channel, Hugh Hefner, Jared Leto, Kim Kardashian and Forever 21 to name a few. Along with his love for cinematic wedding production, he does conducts production workshops, and has couached a Video Journalism Bootcamp in Prague for Radio Free Europe.
